Lesson #17

A Changed man-Is That You?

When you become a Christian you not only have a new family but you are a new man. You are a partaker of the Divine nature. Even as the children who are born into a physical family begin to resemble the physical families so it is true of those that are born into spiritual families. Spiritual families are either of the Devil or of God. We begin to look and act like our parents and families. God has made it possible for us to immediately begin to look and act as one of His children by making us instantly a new creature. We become born again.

    Focus:

Read: II Corinthians 5:17 The saved, born again, person's life is being changed from old to new, now and continually.

Ephesians 4:17-24 The child of God is no longer the old man but the new man; a partaker of God's very nature. He thus leaves the old man and his ways behind and buried, and is now walking in the new man's newness of life.

      Colossians 3:9-10 A new man-renewed after God

Galatians 2:20 Christ lives in you now. The life of the flesh is by faith of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:23 the Christian is born again of incorruptible seed

Question: What does God's word reveal about being an entirely new person?

    Personal Response:

Explain how being a new person, not a made over person, is possible?

Scripture Assurance: 2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Scripture Memory: II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
